Make you feel my love

I have been really busy the past few days. I am totally exhausted at the end of the day and I haven't had much thought about what to write.

I watched a video that a friend posted on facebook, it is about the eulogy and what the wife has to say about her beloved husband during the funeral. It is a very touching video, it is about what she misses now that he is gone. It is about the imperfection that perfect their relationship. The person who sleeps next to us may snore, we may feel agitated because it disrupted our peaceful night.

It is when the closest person in our life left us..that is when we realise we are all imperfect by nature. We begin to miss those little grouses that we used to share.

We are never perfect and the relationship can only get better through sharing and giving. Just appreciate what we have and cherish them. I just want to make you feel my love.

I like to share with you something nice that was posted by my friend on her facebook..

Client is happy, I am Happy too

Today is the mid autumn day and it is largely celebrated by families as another reunion other than the Chinese New Year Eve. Many large families do make it a big affairs and I have been receiving many messages wishing each other. I even received a few from friends in China. So nice of them to remember me.

However, today I couldn't be with my kids to celebrate this occasion. I have to work and it is a full day event. It is another product launch cum symposium and this client was initial not very easy to deal with, but thankfully when I took over, somehow the client was happy with my suggestion and tonight the event finally took place and everything went extremely well.

The gymnast was great and they blended well into the evening theme, however the magician was a bit boring initially except for the last part a little exceptional.

Overall, I am very tired but I am happy as the client came to me and said...thank you very much, everything went well and it is a great show. While listening to her compliments, I felt so pleased..thank you.

My day started very early this morning, I took the children for breakfast as I knew I can't be with them the entire day. But I guess it is all worth it..I have planned something with the children tomorrow - a visit to the bookshop to compensate them.

Boring

What a title for the post...

Actually I had busy day, brought the children to attend birthday party and in between had to make a trip to airport and back to be with the kids and watched them having great time.

I woke up early this morning and I should go to bed together with my little baby a moment ago, somehow, my tired body is against my will to sleep. I just spent the last two hours playing game, surfing the net..and thinking of someone..hahaha. Probably this is the missing part..I am missing someone.

I was afraid to sleep too early and I will wake up very early in the morning. My weekend has always been like this actually not much of activities, perhaps for the last 10 days, my sister was around and I was away with the children so it was busy then and that makes the different. Today, I suddenly find the house very quiet and I felt bored.

Yes, I miss someone. I am glad there is always something to look forward to in life, otherwise the life will be boring and less exciting. Hopefully this feeling will stay forever.

It has been awhile since I last posted a song..I heard this song while I was on holiday in Hong Kong.

Good night and wish you a sweet dream !

Hometown friends

Last night after a long while we had another get together.

It was at the happening place in Jaya One. We wanted to be at The Brussels ~ really happening place but at 5.30 pm, the place is already full despite heavy rain in the evening. Can you believe it ??? So we settled for The Monkeys...a name well suited for us...hahhaha!

The gathering was great, seeing friends whom we have not met for a long time. Two have recently been promoted to be fathers and one came all the way from hometown.

As usual in our gathering with hometown mates..it won't be complete without reminiscing good times back to school days, the facebook talk, the latest hobbiesm, sharing of recipes (for the ladies la) and most importantly our home made delicacies.

Next we plan to organise a pot luck and this will be only Kelantanese delicacies only....I am very excited about this gathering, now is to decide where to meet !!

Good to see old friends....thanks for making it last night !

May all be happy, peaceful and safe, with metta !

Buka Puasa

It is a month after my very heartfelt event and finally we had our post mortem.

The post mortem only took less than 10 minutes to conclude and basically it was zero critical comment...what a relief... am so glad. Of course in side I am very delighted and happy that my baby event was a success. Most importantly I have enriched my awareness related to Thalassaemia disease and I am even considering helping the association as a volunteer or committee. Honestly, I was just offered to be one this evening.

Our post mortem continued with Buka Puasa hosted by my client together with the committee, and some medical professionals from the hospital. It is a nice dinner where I don't feel isolated either way, I feel the genuine kindness and warm from everyone.

Glad all went well.

Painful memories 2 years ago

Time flies it is 2 years now and I can still remember them very clearly.

I am not sure if this is good or bad, as I said to myself, don't look back the past, let it go and close that door, another door is awaiting but this daunting memories still linger on.

It was a nightmare to me 2 years ago, every part of my life broken into pieces, unemployed, lonely, uncertainty, lost and totally fearful.

It hurts me both physically and emotionally and two years after, I have become much stronger emotionally, the physical pain has gone but the bad memories stay.

I really wish I can wipe them out...but it is never possible. I only wish to have more love to ease this feeling. I am not sure writing this post will help me to forget the past...but I guess it is those once for all...never look back !

I read through my old posts and I found this article Create A Life of Love that I have posted which is truly inspirational and motivated for me to move on. I do have fear to love as much as I think I can, but life goes on...I will over come it soon,

Maybe this time, maybe it's you !

God bless me :)

Fabulous vacation

It has been the longest break for me since I started to blog and it is also the longest vacation for me....and truly a wonderful and memorable holiday!

A week vacation for me is hard to come by, and I had before with my family and kids and the experience is different.

It is just superb in many ways...

Flew on Air Asia as part of the prize that I won, checked into the hotel with great location, but the bed is way way way too hard. It doesn't even feel like a mattress, made a complain to the front desk, nothing much can be done. The breakfast was just average..very typical chinese breakfast with some continental selection.

Day 2, our sightseeing day and the most adrenalin excited day - I walked the Macau Tower at 233 metres high ! I did Sydney Tower walk before and it is guarded by railing, and in Macau, the walk is only with harness that works exactly like the safety belt. Trust me, I wasn't prepared for that...but it turned out well, had a certificate to show off....hahahahaha and a photo CD and the bright orange T Shirt.

We did what a tourist would do visiting Macau, ate the famous Portugese Egg Tart, freshly baked....yummy it was good ! The weather in Macau was so humid and I was dripping like never before, as good as seating in the sauna.

What was good throughout the trip is the gastronomy discovery of Portugese cuisine. My famous is the clam in wine sauce....yummy. I had more than once...hahahaha ! I love the baked Sardine, a simple dish yet so tasty. The famous Sucking pig is a must to try but not really my preference. As for what Macau is famous for - casino, all I have contributed was HKD20...so it is really not my thing to do in Macau.

Second highlight of the trip was an overnight visit to Hong Kong. It was as hot as in Macau perhaps a little better. Did the ferry from Hong Kong to Kowloon, something that I have not done for years, took the tram to visit the Peak, enjoyed a nice lunch seating at this corner with the best view of Hong Kong and Kowloon. Last but not least, the romantic stroll along the Arena of the Star in the evening. Came back dead tired...and took the ferry back to Macau.

Our return to Macau is different, we took the premium turbo jet which was a complimentary upgrade. Food served on board but it is definitely not necessary...at 4.45 pm, they served us yogurt and cake which I feel is more like a breakfast set...but anyway, it has been ok too.

We checked into a lovely 5 star resort, a total contrast to our first hotel. The bed is heavenly and the lobby is cosy and people are much more friendly. Met up with a friend who has made our stay memorable. The rest of our stay was just relaxing by the pool, eat and sleep...and a bit of shopping for souvenirs. We went to check out the newest place in Macau, City of Dreams but kinda disappointed because the Hard Rock is just a hotel and not the Hard Rock Cafe that we are familiar with. Venetian is too big and full of Chinese...I feel the lack of exclusiveness and luxury feeling.

We went back to our favourite restaurant in Fisherman Wharf for the Clam in Wine Sauce and almost missed out the top thing to do which was a prayer at A-Ma Temple. We reached the temple just 10 minutes before its closing time. I did my prayer for a great year ahead...

The vacation ended yesterday with me looking a lot more healthier due to the sun tanning, looking radiant and totally refreshed, maybe 1-2 kgs extra...oooops!

7 days can be really too long for Macau and Hong Kong but with the right company, it is never too long :)

Family Birthday Gathering

Tonight I attended a family birthday gathering. We celebrated two birthday, one is my uncle's 70th Birthday and another is my aunt who happens to be back to Malaysia for 2 weeks vacation. They are both senior citizen and 2 years ago when my mom turned 70, everyone came to my hometown and gave her a surprise birthday gathering.

My mom 2nd eldest in the family of 10, decided to make a trip here just to be with her dearest siblings. The reason is simple she wishes to be with them as she is also getting old and just never knew how many more birthdays she could spend with them. I feel for her and truly understand her feelings.

It was a simple family dinner without my children sadly because this dinner was planned last minute, and my children are on their way back to my hometown for school holiday. It would have been nice to have them for tonight's dinner. They would have created a lot more noise and laughter throughout the dinner.

I have 3 very independent children who will not give me much problem when they have to leave me. The little one was so excited and happily waving good bye and hugged me.

I wish my uncle, aunt and my mom...the best of health and many more such gatherings in the future!

Sisterly Chat

I had a good chat with my sis last night. As we grow older, we have walked so much and gone through a bit too, and when we meet, it is great to share our lives experiences. I enjoy moments with my sisters where all four of us just relax and chat ! Sadly it is not easy to do this often as we are not near one another !

We spoke about how we face life being a single mom, and coping with children and their demand. Our social life and how we manage them. We have a good laugh as well as sharing of tears of how painful it is being one! We know what is life as a mom what's more single mom, we appreciate how much a vacation or a time to ourselves mean so much to us !

Thanks Sis for allowing me to know you better !

Miss updating my blog !

I have not been blogging as much as I used to...and I do miss it !

Work has been quite busy lately and I actually enjoy being busy, and it is ingrained in me that I love being very occupied. Even in the evening I have meetings with client as I am working with NGO therefore we only meet after work. There goes my meditation class...been missing a bit !

However, life hasn't been the best, had to cope with many challenges from different peoples. I try to remain as calm and positive..which I think I did pretty ok, but I think I can do better.

Lately I started to have sweet tooth for specific dessert...I am not a dessert lover especially those very rich chocolate or cheesy type. So I better watch my waist line...and have to double up my exercise.

I have to continue to read more where I have left....reading motivational, religious and self help book has helped me a lot !

Personal life has been ok la...though nothing too exciting but good enough to make me feel happy and look forward to another day and still smiling as always !

It has been awhile since I last posted a nice song...here is another lovely song !

I looked in the sky
and there I saw a star
shining so bright above

I closed my eyes
and wished upon the star
that I would find true love

Someone who needed me..
Someone to share my life..
For a love that would be true I would wait forever

So... no... matter how long it may be..
I will be waiting

One star..
brighter than the others
Two Hearts..
beating for each other
I believe wishes really come true

Love at first sight
I knew it from the moment
when you said hello

I hoped you felt it too
but we were both so shy
how was I to know

when you reached for my hand
I knew you were the one
We laughed and talked for hours
like I'd known you forever

Like... a... dream or something from a book
True love has found me

One star..
brighter than the others
Two Hearts..
beating for each other
Now I see wishes really come true

You just have to dream
Nothing's as bad as it seems to be..
believe me..

Someone's waiting for you to try..
There in the sky..

One star..
brighter than the others
Two Hearts..
beating for each other
You will see wishes really come true

You can't stop believing
wishes do come true
You gotta believe me (wish on a star)
wishes do come true...

Mid Year Review

6 months has gone for 2009...so what have I achieved ?

I have fully completed one year with my present employer ! Though it is still a bit of challenge here and there, in fact it is good so that I still have room to grow not exactly on moving up, but more things to learn and perhaps contribute to the company.

Divorce is mid way..I think it is coming to an end very soon after much of frustration and complains made to the lawyer, finally something is moving !

The kids are definitely growing, they are eating a lot and I can see my bills are increasing. 3 kids and their appetite..no joke ! But I have to feed them no matter how...and I enjoy seeing how they enjoy food !

Life...I am coping well, more relaxed than past 6 months ! I guess it is all about reaching the stage where you are sort of healed...but not fully ! I must say I did pretty well...coming to 2 years of separation and I did well so far...agree ?

Parents are doing ok...and I need to visit them more and spend more time with them.

Religious and spiritually I am doing a lot better than before and this has been by my side guiding me and leading me with the strength to move on. Sounds like I am such a religious person....hahaha !

So, in the nutshell...I am doing fine ! Life went through ups and downs but my positive mindset and determination to live on has driven me here today.

The next half year...it is going to get better with a lot more smiles on my face ! I look forward to keeping good health, maintaining the work out and works towards my dream to climb Mt. Kinabalu next year ! Last but not least.....must look prettier or eh hemm at least maintain !

That is about all....shall do another review after 3/4 of the year..!

Life is changing...

For the past few weeks, I have been rather busy both at work and personal life...

This is the kind of life that I have long missed..especially the working life. I like to keep myself busy and I have always been known as Workaholic ! I enjoy working and I have deep enthusiasm in my work...but I feel it is lacking the drive that I used to have. Despite being busy, I am happy....strange person, normally people would complain but I am otherwise...LoL!

At work, I am learning something new and it is an exciting experience. There is a lot to learn, not an easy task but I am hopeful with proper guidance and direction, it is going to be great ! This is one area that I have always wanted to try out.

Even though I have different views and opinion in my approach at work, constantly I am finding ways to make it easy and more compromising...it seems difficult but got to try and find solutions to it. Another change for me...

Personal life is as usual but have many friends around me. I have great friends that I am totally comfortable with, people that I trust and that I can include my family. My little girl had a her night out with me for the 1st time till 3 am....terrible mommy ! And the next day, she had a "hangover"....hahahaha, she slept right through till 10 am, woke up had her breakfast and continue to sleep till 1 pm.

Somehow, I have this intuition that my life is changing towards good and things are moving, just a few issues to work on and I hope the best is ahead of me.

I am not complaining...in fact I am happy with my life as it is now, waking up great everyday :)

The Discovery of Metta Meditation

I am just happy

It started just minutes before we started the meditation session. It is also a beginning of the new moon, and a Puja (prayer) was conducted. I feel blessed obviously :-) Brought a few candies home to share with my loved one...

Anyway, what is it that I was so happy about ? I remember one of the meetings I had with Honorable Chief Priest Rev. Ratana, he advised me that there is no SHORT CUT to meditation. Firstly you must start with Metta Meditation which is focusing on radiating loving kindness and then progress to Vippasana Meditation or Insight / Mindfulness Meditation which is commonly known.

I thought I understood what Chief said, oh yes we need to radiate loving kindness and that is when we are able to practise Insight / Calmness meditation. By statement I understood what he meant !

Suddenly the clarity came and I could relate what Chief told me months ago with an incident in my life. Someone that I knew often complaint about his anger, hatred and frustration he faced at work and with people in his life. And we spoke about meditation before and I think he is a better yogis than me, as claimed he does Vippasana meditation a lot more than I do. But why is there still so much anger, hatred and frustration in his life ? All of us has ups and downs even with our moods, but why do we get irritated easily if we practise mindfulness through meditation !?

There is no short cut is the answer...firstly like what Chief shared with me, practise Metta and with the right mindset and let the heart radiates loving kindness even towards people who has hurt us and caused us a lot of suffering. You will still feel calm, enjoy more inner peace and less agitated with situation that causes unpleasant or unhappy about.

I feel great for discovering this tonight...and I know why even though I have gone through a terribly down times in marriage yet there is no anger nor hatred towards it.

I am glad that radiating and practicing Metta has helped me a lot, it is so important to start it right....Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu !

My vacation

Today is my 3rd day here in KK !

It has been great and I hadn't felt lonely so far ! Originally this is purely leisure but somehow, I decided to inspect the resort for my onward project....sigh ! This is my problem, I always mixed pleasure and work !

My room was upgraded to seaview and received special attention from the hotelier..not bad ! The weather has been great, no rain lots of sunshine, in fact was really hot ! I am a tourist who really settled into the environment. I went cycling into kampung area, had a good dinner, enjoying my food and read magazine and book ! I actually spent 2 hours at the restaurant...I don't believe it. I went to the bar, have a drink and be entertained by the local band, they are great and we became friends. Met some new friends from abroad, chat at the bar and we made a few song request...one of which was Besame Mucho performed solo on clarinet..nice !

Eventhough it is vacation and I could have slept longer, but I felt a need to wake up earlier to work out, so I went to the gym ! For the very first time, I join the nature conservation and went to the forest to see orang utan ! They are the babies but very cute ! I spent the whole afternoon at the beach, trying to get some tan, but I bought a high SPF sunblock but ok la...at least I am not burned.

The best part was the SPA, something is meant for me I feel, the moment I walk into the treatment room, the back ground music was Metta Chant! What a calming effect ! I chose "Sabah Experience"..and I had a good scrub using the most natural raw ingredient...rice powder ! I paid a premium to find out what we could do at home to make our skin feeling smooth and supple...!!! But, this is life, we always pay a high price to find out good and bad ! The treatment is so relaxing, I fell asleep and walk out feeling so so rejuvenated.

It has been great...now I have check in at another resort ! Off to the beach for another round of sunbathing...!!

Prince Siddhartha The Musical

For the very first time, I have watched this musical and I have watched it twice.

The first time about 10 years ago, they had their very first performance and I think that time I was so involved with my new born child, so I had not gone for it, also partly I wasn't so religious during that time. Some how, at the right time in life, God knows what is necessary for us to learn, and we are able to receive and accept the guidance.

I often find myself doing something unplanned and it is very spontaneously done. I remember while I was working at the Shah Alam Stadium as the pre opening team. The Venerable Master Hsing Yun was visiting and the dhamma propagation event took place. It was a huge affair and I took refuge to Buddha, Dhamma and Sangha together with many on that night in May 1997.

When I was a kid, I am not well exposed to religion even when I was in secondary, I do not join any religious society like some of my classmates. I was more active in Interact Club, English Society and Computer Club. I am a free thinker but more of a Taoist then. I pray to Nine Emperor's God and still do. I have been observing vegetarian for 9 days since I was a kid and will continue as long as I can.

Recent past 2 years, I felt my spiritual path is strengthen especially. I used to go to temple with my family and it has been a norm for us to visit temple on Wesak Days and eve of New Year. Since the day my life turned upside down..I went to the seek the advice and blessing from the Ven Chief Dhammaratana, my devotion towards the understanding of dhamma has significantly increased.

I was never religious and I don't attend any formal dhamma teaching about Buddhism, but I hold on to the teaching and practise the precepts. And I must also thank friends who share the same spiritual interest and helped me. I have a friend who often shared about Buddhism on his blog and reading it made me understand it better. He has helped me..thanks !

I went for the first show last Sunday all alone....another new experience for me. I have never been to any show all alone...I think soon, I will walk to the cinema for a movie without any friend...hahahaha ! I heard of this show almost more than one month and couldn't think of anyone who would be interested to join me. Thus, I have forgotten about it completely. And coincidentally I was at FGS as usual on Sunday morning, my good friend asked me if I am interested to go for the show, she said tickets are available but I can't sit with her as she had bought her tickets much earlier.

I thought about it, what is wrong watching it alone, it is about me appreciating the show..and musical is not something that you talk to someone as you are watching it. I decided and I bought the ticket. With no regret, I enjoyed it so much, I was a bit emotional especially the beginning of the show, even my daughter and my sister felt it too tonight.

So, I decided that my children should be given an opportunity to learn this great teaching of Buddha through the musical way. I am glad they enjoyed it so much. It has helped them to understand karma, the cycle of life of any beings. Mostly important, I hope they will appreciate the dedication and hard work of the volunteers and me (hehe) to teach and drive them respectively on every Sunday.

When they grow up, they have their choice of religion and I just want to instill the right teaching towards their moral behaviour from young and to understand and appreciate life in a better way.

Since this is the final show, I managed to get the autograph from the main cast, and more excitedly is, I also asked for the autograph and photo taken with my most respected lady who shares her beautiful voice with me in my daily chant. Her voice lives in me when I am happy and sad and she is Ms. Imee Ooi and finally the producer of the show ~ Ms. Ho Lin Huay !

Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu ~ for all the work well done.

With Metta always !

Emotional moments with my children

I didn't expect this !

I was with my children to collect their school report card, and my son for the very first time, failed one paper which is Chinese Essay writing. Other subject he did ok but need to improve. As for my daughter, she done averagely for standard One and I hope she could do better too.

My expectation from the children is to do well in their school..and be a well mannered children. They are great kids at least I have not heard bad comments about them :)

I had to juggle between the meet the teacher sessions for both, and I had to rush back to work, and some issues to settle urgently, so it was a bit rush rush for me. What hit me was, seeing so many children walking with "both parents" and suddenly my son said to me "Mom, I know how you feel, you have to manage two sessions, it is not easy". So I told him, "please sit there and wait for your turn, don't walk away otherwise another parent will take over the queue" !

As we were walking home, I was taking to them about their result, which I really hope they will improve in the next term.

When I was praying before I left for work, I suddenly felt weak and emotional and I started crying...don't know why, I just couldn't control my emotions. I feel sad and lost for that moment, not knowing what to do with their school performance, I feel tired coping with life and I feel sad for them that they do not have their father's love and care.

I broke down and started crying uncontrollably....

My son came to me, and they were wondering what is wrong with their mom ?? I told them I am just very tired and I said something I shouldn't say out of tiredness and frustration !

"How I wish I don't have to take care of of all you"! "I am tired, I have to work and I have to manage the family all by myself..." "I wish I can leave everything and not bother any more..."

My son started crying too, he felt very sad and told me something very touching. Next, my eldest daughter also cried and hugged me...

"Mom, I am very sorry that I caused you to be sad and stressed. I don't want you to be unhappy but I don't know how ? I wish we could be happy again like how we used to when Papa was around ! I feel it is my fault that cause you feeling so sad ! I want you to be happy Mom"

My replies....

"It is not your fault, and I am sorry I couldn't bring Papa back and he has left us.
Mama loves all of you and no matter what, mama will be here forever for all of you. I am sorry that I had made all of you cried... Just do your best in school...that is all I am asking from you !"

I was really touched and emotional...they walked me to the car and sent me off. I cried so much even while driving to work...I felt really sorry for them and I will have to control my emotions...life goes on !

On the funny side.....my baby daughter also joined us by forcing herself to cry....LoL.

Lucky Day - Grand Prize Winner

It is a lucky day for me ! I thank my lucky star for blessing me in winning the grand prize !

What is the grand prize? A 4 days 3 nights package to Macau inclusive of flight, hotel and tour
(not everyday la..plus a chance to try out the Macau Extreme programme. The extreme programme can be bungee jump and sky walk !

This morning, I was feeling tired and a bit lazy while driving to town for this early morning tourism workshop. Anyhow, I made my way there. I was in a dress which my sister passed on to me, nice short dress above knee, with low cut but not revealing one...

I felt my dressing was a bit eye catching today...but I don't really care as I know I was dressed decently.

So the workshop started and for someone like me who has only been to Macau airport never get to tour around, the fact and information shared was truly useful. After 2 hours of sharing, the facilitator started the draw. Oh, I forgot I actually met my buddy Vivian, so it was not all so boring because I was alone representing my company. So the early prizes were one night stay in Macau at Venetian Resort and Casino, but you know these 5 star deluxe hotels are so expensive and if I win, I may not even go because of one night.

Finally, it is the grand prize moment, the Chairman Tunku Iskandar drew the lucky winner from the fish bowl....and he picked up a card and he used his other hand to cover the back of the card, so that we couldn't see. And finally he revealed, and since I was seated in the front, I could clearly see that is MY card with a distinguished mustard green colour at the back.

Yahoo.....I am the winner of the Grand Prize!

I was so excited and happy walking up the stage to receive the prize. Few days ago, I was trying out a quiz on Facebook for lucky number, and today coincidentally we were seated at table No. 1 and I won the Grand Prize...

I am beginning to believe...No. 1 works for me...lol !!

Previously I have won some other lucky draw before, like free air ticket and free night stay which I am going soon next month. So, I do have some lucks in lucky draw...

One more thing...just for the record, 8 years ago, I moved into this condo, and I thank God for his great blessing that me and my family are happily, comfortably and protected in this house.

I wish all of you a lucky day everyday....Just sharing :)

Hangover

Last night I went out drinking with some friends from my hometown.

This is wine drinking "kaki" so we had a few chardonnay and sparking wine. And one guy took out a bottle of whisky and that is not something I have tried. I normally do not mix my drinks, but I did last night.

I have never experienced the feeling of hangover as I am always very careful of how I enjoy myself with alcohol. Perhaps I know I wasn't driving so I can afford to take more. I regretted because the feeling of hangover really got me. I woke up getting a real bad headache...

Now I finally know the feeling of almost drunk.....it is really not what I like !! I enjoy drinking in moderation in general...

Wesak Day

So, Wesak Day has arrived !

First time ever I went to the temple as early as 6.30 am on Wesak Day. What I saw yesterday and compare with the visits I made before, it is different.

It wasn't busy yet, and the place is filled with volunteers, reporting to work and getting to their duty post. The main highlight was the official from Sri Lanka High Comm came to officiate the opening with cultural dance to usher their arrival. And the queue for offering and blessing started as early as 7am.

So, what was my big role yesterday ??? It is a nice job because at the end of the session, my fingers were all fragranced naturally by chrysanthemum. The smell stays on my fingers till now....I do wash my hands ok...haha. Any idea what I was doing ? I was shredding flower petals to be placed in recycle paper packet. It is given to devotees to bring home for showering and blessing !

I am not sure about others while shredding, but I feel the sense of mindfulness is required, I was totally focus on the greatness of this job. I chose and picked if the flowers are not burned, mixing them to have a good blend of colourful petals and some jasmine just to add some fresh fragrance. I imagine the delightful faces of the devotees when they received the colourful flowers.

Next year I look forward to contribute more....

Get healthy

I was in the hospital two days ago, while waiting for consultation at the emergency area, I couldn't help but kept looking around at everyone who stepped in.

One lady who was bleeding profusely on the nose, had a golf ball size of swollen eyes..blood all over her shirt, I felt so sad for her and it seems like she met an accident riding her motorcycle. Next, another man came in the observation area complaining of stomachache which lasted 2 - 3 days, and blood found in the urine, next I saw a woman looking pale and weak, not much of expression on her face...trying to look calm, but I know she is definitely very sick.

Witnessing all these in one night, my thought was immediately focused on I need to be healthy. I want to live a better life, not on material gain but better as in less sickness, healthy life style.

It is important to be spiritually strong in mind and our body does compliment the right mind set. I believe so and I really want it to happen that way. When I was younger, I used to go to the gym with my housemate. And when I started working, I don't exercise that much except for playing squash. And when I started to have my children, my focus was on them and I neglected my own fitness. I give all my time to my husband to have his golf game on weekly basis, while I stayed at home to look after the children. Occasionally we will go to the park with the kids. That is all I do for my fitness.

Thankfully, I am always careful with what I eat, less oil, not much of deep frying except for my favourite goreng pisang. I used to take roti canai for breakfast but I cut down and not even once a week. I take simple breakfast, toast bread, yogurt, cereal and eggs sometimes. I control what I eat for lunch, the fact is that the entire street behind my office, from the very first stall to the last are serving majority Indian or Malay rice. Only 1 - 2 stalls Chinese food serving Mixed rice, Yong Tau Foo and noodles. So, at times, I will skip or just take some fruits or if I can plan my lunch away from office, I would do so. As for dinner, it will be home cooked food, soup is the most important for my family. My kids love soup so do I. I am a very soupy person and each time when I change the maid, training them to boil soup is priority...

Generally, I am watchful of my diet and I appreciate the motivation from my dear friend to work out more, and I have started to work out regularly and it helps. I feel better nowadays and I hope to keep up with it.

I want to keep a healthy lifestyle and age gracefully....looking young haha :)
