Last Chance Harvey

I just watched Last Chance Harvey acted by Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson. By body size comparison, both of them do not complement each other but acting wise, they are both award winners. So no doubt, they are both good at it and I enjoyed the show.

The story line is kind of expected and watching this show brings back some memories. How you met someone unexpectedly, how one sealed the first kiss, the failed marriage and etc.

Life journey never stop until your last breathe. It takes us up and takes us far, it can be beautiful, ugly, funny and sad. It is all about how much we are willing to stretch, to reach and to be in it. I remember taking a scenic route in North India, the wild flowers aligned on two sides of the uneven road, but unexpectedly was the scents of the roses. Life is just the same, what you least expect from a wild rugged country side, the worst road condition, some surprises came and the goodness stays forever.

Just wanna post this...my wonderful life experience.

Marley & Me

I bought the DVD for almost 2 months and finally I watched it with my children !

It is a very touching story and what is life like when you have a pet at home.

I grew up with 2 dogs at home, Blackie was a black dog and Shasha was a mixed breed....I really can't remember what they were...sorry. I used to be afraid of Blackie because he was taller than me, I was in my primary and when we had Shasha a small size dog, I played a lot with him.

And watching this show reminds me of the day when I was with my husband, one evening, he brought home a black puppy...given by a friend and he knew I love animal, so we kept her. It is exactly like the show, we were about to get married and started the family. Similarly we were afraid of how she could be jealous of the new arrival at home.

Finally we were ready to move to our condo and we have to decide her fate. Since we kept the house for awhile, we left her there and we visited the house everyday. And finally we felt it is time to give her away but no one wanted her because she was 6 years old. So, the only choice was to give her to SPCA.

I can remember vividly when I left her there that evening, the staff at SPCA told me they will try to find her an adoption but unlikely as she was too old. They will put her to sleep if there is no adoption (I can't remember the time frame). I cried looking at her as we were leaving. I never called SPCA to find what happen to her then...

Again I cried watching this movie, some part of the show reminded me of how I started my family, coping and balancing our lives with children.

Just memories...life goes on !

He is just not that into you

Just reading the title of the movie, we clearly understand what it means particularly in relationship.  So how ? When he is just not that into you ?  Come to think of it, if some one tells you this, it can be very hurtful !

After I watched the movie, it is kind of confusing though a little that how and what should be the approach in friendship towards relationship.   When a guy say something awful to you or hurt you, it is a sign of he likes you??...so there goes the beginning of the problem, and each time if some one hurts you, you think he is interested in you ! Is this some kind of a state of denial to accept the truth or there is actually a logic to it ?  In my opinion...it is Yes and No.

At some point, nowadays do we still wait for the guys to call?  Isn't ok for the lady to initiate the call ?  And if the guy is not initiating any contact, does it mean "He is just not that into you" and he is not interested in you?  If the lady is more pro active in her approach, what would be the reaction of the guy, she is too needy and clinging ? Is that just an assumption of the lady's character ?  Maybe she is not needy but she is just a very warm and passionate person ?

In this era of equality for both male and female, does dating or relationship play the same role ?  Do you really have to wait for the male to initiate ?  I think I do need to watch this movie again..for whatever reason just to digest the theory better.

Most of the time, we chase something in our life, the person that we like, the things that we enjoy and many times we oversight some important people that passes by.    I remember once I posted about The Sign...I realised while pursuing my career and coping with family, I actually didn't notice the sign of my marriage was on the rock.  On the surface, it seems calm and wonderful but it was a matter of time that the bubble burst.   It all happened just like that at the right time for whatever reasons...

Nevertheless, it is still a learning process, it can be painful and hurtful or accepting it with gladness that it is a sense of wisdom to me.  Some are lucky in their life, not much of dealing with unexpected marriage turmoil and unhappiness such as divorce and separation.

What is important and remain in my mind is HOPE...I will never give up hope that life ahead will be greener and happy for me.  I know we have ups and downs, but as soon as I feel down, I pick myself up again...and I know one day, my perseverance will be rewarded.

If you haven't watch this movie, it is ok to watch it.  It is quite relaxing and a nice romantic comedy.  Anyhow, love relationship is complicated.  Yet, we can't live without one.  Sometimes I wonder, why are we born so complicated, if you like someone and if the chemistry seems right, what is there to worry and consider ?   Give it a try...take the gut out of you to make the first approach !

What say you  ??

It is never too late for a 2nd Chance

On a quiet Saturday night, no date for movie at the cinema, I decided to watch another great love movie...Nights in Rodanthe

It is amazingly another good movie, especially acted by Richard Gere, I usually won't miss his movie !

The story is about Adrienne, her husband has hurt her and now seeking to return into her life.  And she met Paul who was the only guest staying in a romantic blue inn by the beach where she was helping her friend to manage the place.  It started with a tender romance..and Paul  found her to be an exceptional woman whereby her husband obviously didn't realise it before and left her for a younger lady.

So this is 2nd chance for both of them, and they met by chance and found a different kind of love. She loves her husband is because of he is father of her children.  But the love that she found in Paul is so uniquely different, this is how she explained to her daughter the kind of love :

"But there is another kind of love, one that gives you the courage to be better than you are, not less than you are, one that makes you feel everything is possible, I want you to know that you can have that, i want you to hold out for it and i want you to know you deserve it !"

I like the part when they exchanged love letters, she rejoiced in receiving those love letters.  The romance was intense and "head over heels" sort of !

Unfortunately it is a sad ending, but getting to know each other has saved others to appreciate and understand the person whom they dearly loved.

Somehow watching this movie tells some real life chords of my life......honestly I was crying and rather emotional throughout.   There is this part where she was sobbing....and my children ran out from their room thinking I was actually crying.   Jordan said, mom sounded like you when you cried....lol funny right, but just imagine how sensitive they can be towards my crying !

Probably one day, when  children grow up, they will understand what happened between me and their father, and my life after !  Second chance...will it be better ??

Sex and the city

It seems a little delay for me to watch this movie as it was shown last year, but I just bought the DVD.

Tonight, after a long day work, came home played with my 3 darlings, sat down on the couch I watched the movie while enjoying home cook dinner, fried fish and my very home grown sauce "budu".  This is our family favourite right to my little girl who will be turning three in 2 days time.   If you do not know what that is, it is like you must have a bottle of soya sauce and we must have budu !  I could have used my hands if there was ulam then...haha !

I really enjoyed the movie, seeing the 40s and their life, went through different stages, realising what is more important, seeking LOVE even is for our self.    There is no logic, it is just love !  So true !  What can love do to a person ?? Will you smile again after broken hearted ???  After a marriage is betrayed, can you trust the person again ?  It is about 2 persons seeking the love again as both are unsure if it will be the same before !  The ultimate truth of what love is for the two of them !

This is one of the love letter / poem in the movie :

Be calm, only by a calm consideration of our existence
can we achieve our purpose to live together -
Be calm - love me - today - yesterday -
what tearful longings for you - you - you - my life - my all - farewell.
Oh continue to love me - never misjudge the most faithful heart of your beloved.
ever thine
ever mine
ever ours

When I look at Carrie while she was in the most devastated look, I began to think was I like that ?  Do I look that awful then ? And seeing her friends around her supporting her reminds me of how my family and friends who stayed by me when I went through the pain and crying days ! I must admit that someone actually touched my life and brought back that smile on me.  I love you all, my parents, sisters, my 3 darlings and friends !

Benjamin Button

I have just watched Benjamin Button and I must say this is a top class love story.

And this is an excellent movie and it would be nicer if you watch with your loved ones.

It is so touching especially when she turned older and he was getting younger and the most touching scene was when he became a young boy.

It is a must see for all...and I will get a DVD to keep and I wouldn't mind watching it again.   The script were well written and every part of the show touched my heart.

Bedtime Stories

It is a must for every story to have a good ending ??  What is your view about this ?

Most of time, every drama or movie that we have watched would have a good ending...or there will be 2nd part to have a good ending.  And every story can't stay out of romance ?  I think so after I watched the Bed Time Stories.

It is quite a warm and hilarous show..and so much of laughter heard in the cinema.   The show is all about power of imagination, fantasy of story telling that seemingly made into realism.  The whole show is just harmless and so relaxing.  And the familiar children nursery song..Hokey pokey was sang and dance by a group of Skeeter's high school friends, and my little girl enjoys that...hahaha.  I find the most hilarous part was the bee-stung tongue dialogue...!  You shall watch it yourself and you know what I mean !

Throughout the show, there is one part in particular that my heart felt weak, when Bobbi asked " do you think our daddy will come back?" and my daughter Joelle said.."they are like us, don't have papa". My eyes again were smarting with tears. You know why la..??

Well, I find this movie is relaxing and I wish for my 2009 to be in the same manner.   Dreams come true !

Life Is Great & Dynamic

My last post sounded a little sad and very emotional right ? Sorry about it !

Actually I am not as bad as I have described la...it is just me whining a little and feeling really exhausted and stress from lack of sleep the night before..and nearly got my self into accident as I dozed off while driving and I feel terrible about this !

Yes I do feel lonely but it is just being emotional at times !  When I think of the kids, I wish I have not let them go away for such a long break, then I thought over it again, why I do change their lifestyle for me, I know how much my parents and the children look forward to this short stay.  It is me and I am responsible for what happened in my life ! So here I am getting upset with what happened and decision made about my life.  But I  shouldn't let this stay too long and it is making me rather negative and I really have to find myself and what I really want.  This is suffering that I have chosen and I have the right not to feel this way, right ?  I used to be a very happy person, what is really wrong with me ?  I find myself very emotional lately and why am I behaving like that ?  Gosh...I really need to break this !  I know I can do it and what lies ahead of me would be great and all the good days are coming back to me.  Life is Dynamic and Great ! Be Positive !

And I know these painful days are over soon..and I have confident things are going to fall in place, everything is going well too !

I have just watched Mama Mia the movie la...it is so cool, romantic and touching and songs in the movie are so alive and reminds me of my experience in life also part of my growing up..I just love it and love the ending !  Of course, my favourite Pierre Brosnan is acting....hehe :-)

Hope you like my selection of songs...

Thank you for the music
